  2. An Update on My Life

    • 3 months ago – Started my amazing job with Seagate
    • 9 months ago – Traveled cross-country to start a new life in California
    • 10 months ago – Got engaged
    • 11 months ago – Graduated from college

Time flies when you’re having fun or just damn busy.  I started this blog a few years ago as part of a college project with the intention of keep it up as a way to document major life changes and to remember what has happened in my life.  What’s the use when I never blog?

But seriously I am amazed and how wonderful life has been.  The month of February was filled with some great visits from family and friends – Brock visited during the first week and Ryan’s parents and sister later in the month.

With the start of my new job at Seagate in January, Ryan and I have fell into a nice groove.  It’s a welcomed change for us to both be on the same sleep and work schedule.  After our visitors in February, we have been relaxing most of our weekends and staying local – the Campbell Farmer’s Market has quickly become one of our favorite weekend activities.  We’ve purchased some amazing produce, fish and flowers so far!

Looking back a year ago I can’t believe that I am graduated from college and into a career that I truly love and am passionate about.  I had this dream for such a long time to make it cross-country and start up a life here, and here it is now – almost a year in.  It happened.

So what’s next?   Lots of wedding planning and enjoying our very first spring/early summer in California.  And maybe even more regular posts on my blog.

And now for some absolutely adorable photos of Oliver, our hamster.

  3. My Life (As of Now)

Updates to my life (none exciting):

    • Went out to K.C. Tea and Noodles tonight on East Ave. Food was horrendous. Will never go there again.
    • Checked out the local liquor store on East Ave. Found Blueberry wine made from Maine Blueberries. I’m enjoying a glass as we speak.

This weekend (actually all my weekends consists of lots of work). Here’s the goals for tomorrow:
    • Read and take notes on chapters 9 & 10 for Public Speaking.
    • Make slide content for chapter 12 for New Media Team Project.
    • Choose portfolio pieces, upload and write descriptions for them.
    • Have Ryan integrate my new beautiful Portfolio Gallery.
    • Write Press release for sticker contest.
    • Math homework. Oh yes, I need to do my truth tables for my 5th grade math class.

Oh, and Wegmans to shop – someone can only live on Cheerios and milk from the Dollar General for so long.

Tell me it will end soon!

  4. Public Speaking

Public speaking is going to be a very difficult class this quarter.

    Let’s face the facts:

    • I like to talk in front of an audience.
    • I hate coming up with a subject.
    • I can’t stand practicing 10-20 times before a speech.
    • I don’t like the idea of my class ripping me a new one and critiquing the way I hold my hand on my hip when I say a certain word.
    • I don’t like getting graded on speaking.
    • Improvement? Gosh I hope I do.

Okay, back to practicing my speech.

  5. Painting the Apartment (Day 2 & 3)

I wish I had time to post this earlier this week, but alas school got the better of me. I had two papers, two presentations, and two major projects all due in the course of four days. Armed with lots of caffeine, lack of sleep, a supportive boyfriend and a fast computer, I finished just in time.

Ryan and I started our painting job last Thursday, and continued on both Friday and Saturday evening. Friday night we did the office and put up the primer in the living room. I don’t think we realized how high the wall in the living room was and how much of a nuisance it was going to be. We were really lucky come Saturday, when Pat offered to give us a hand finishing up. The living room was finished in approximately 1 1/2 hours thanks to him!

Now that the apartment is painted, to IKEA we go. More later!
